CARTHAGE, Texas — An East Texas man has been arrested for allegedly shooting his neighbor during a fight.
According to the Panola County Sheriff's Office, around 5:40 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 8, deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting on PR 7011, near Carthage.
When the PCSO arrived on scene, they found a man had been shot in the shoulder at close range. The man was taken to a local hospital before being flown to Shreveport for further treatment. Two other people were detained at the scene.
Those detained went to the PCSO to be interviewed. There, deputies learned a dispute between neighbors escalated into a fight which resulted in the shooting.
Officials arrested Shaun Christopher Eaves, 43, of Carthage, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Panola County Jail on $100,000 bond. He Has since been released.
The victim is expected to recover.
