NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The East Texas Food Bank is excited to announce a new mobile food bank is opening in Nacogdoches on June 18.
According to the press release, the new mobile pantry will be open every third Tuesday of every month at the First United Methodist Church in Nacogdoches.
The mobile food pantry will be open from 4 to 5:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, June 18 and distribution will be held at 201 E. Hospital Street.
“Nacogdoches County has a great need for food assistance as 19% of the residents including 29% of children are food insecure according to the latest data from Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap. We know the need is great and plan to serve 300-500 households at the new mobile pantry distribution each month.” David Emerson, CEO of the East Texas Food Bank said.
The East Texas Food Bank currently has nine pantries in Nacogdoches County including in Chireno, Cushing, Douglass, Etoile and Nacogdoches.
The drive-thru mobile pantry is open to everybody with no additional ID requirement.
