East Texas church completes 1,000 acts of kindness through community project

After being set up at the East Texas State Fair for a week now, Emily Gregg, the pastor's wife, said they’ve reached their goal.

TYLER, Texas — An East Texas church is excited to be wrapping up a successful month of spreading acts of kindness.

Life Church in Tyler developed what they call the Kindness Project. All month long, they’ve been encouraging anyone who sees them to stop by and grab a magnet with a simple act of kindness on it so they can complete it.

Their goal was to have 1,000 acts of kindness completed. After being set up at the East Texas State Fair for a week now, Emily Gregg, the pastor's wife, said they’ve reached their goal.

"We just want to say thank you so much to everyone who came out and supported the Kindness Project because as of last night, we hit 1,000 acts of kindness in our city," Gregg said. "So thank you for participating, thank you for being kind, and let's just continue it."

Gregg said they had so much support and great feedback that they are considering turning this into a bi-annual event. So the project could make a return in the spring.
