GUN BARREL CITY, Texas — One person was flown to a local hospital after a major crash Saturday night in Gun Barrel City.
According to the Gun Barrel City Fire Department, around 9:25 p.m., officials responded to a one-vehicle crash in the 300 block of Legendary Ln. Authorities say a vehicle had gone off the roadway and hit a tree.
"Due to the force of the impact, the driver was trapped in the vehicle," the GBCFD said. "Firefighters used the Hurst Jaws of Life® Rescue Tools to safely remove the driver."
The driver was taken, by helicopter, to a Tyler hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.
