TYLER, Texas — One person is dead and another is injured following a two-vehicle crash in Tyler on Saturday.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Adam Albritton, the wreck occurred on Toll 49 near Old Jacksonville Highway at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday.
The preliminary investigation revealed that vehicle one was driven by Dilissa N. Flores, 32, of Tyler, was traveling west on Toll Road 49. Vehicle two was driven by Zayra Borja, 17, of Chandler, was entering Toll 49 from the eastbound ramp.
Borja was attempting to make an illegal U-Turn that caused for Flores to collide into their vehicle.
Flores was pronounced dead on the scene by DPS and Borja was transported to a local hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
