LONGVIEW, Texas — A man's previous interactions with police, his Facebook photo and information from witnesses led to his arrest for accusations of killing another man and injuring a woman at a Longview Waffle House last week.

Rayshon Weston LaGarde, 23, was arrested early Wednesday morning on murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. He remains in the Gregg County Jail on bonds totaling $1.5 million.

The arrest stems from the shooting death of 27-year-old Kendall Marshall, of Longview, and injuries that Jasmine Mayfield sustained on Dec. 23 at Waffle House on East Loop 281 in Longview, according to arrest documents.

One witness told detectives that she saw a man wearing a pink hoodie take out a pistol while he was outside of the restaurant. She said the man in the hoodie raised the pistol in their directions and she told everyone to get down, the arrest affidavit said.

The document stated the woman said once people got down, gunfire started coming into the Waffle House. A detective viewed the security video and said he was able to identify LaGarde as the man wearing the hoodie based on "previous encounters" with him and help from a fellow detective.

A detective also saw a photo from LaGarde's Facebook page that showed LaGarde wearing the exact same pink and blue hoodie seen at the Waffle House, the affidavit read.

The affidavit did not mention any possible motive for the shooting. Updates on Mayfield's condition have not been provided at this time, documents say.
