SMITH COUNTY, Texas — Emergency crews are responding after 100 to 200 gallons leaked from a truck on the eastbound ramp of Highway 271 and Interstate 20 in Smith County.
Smith County Fire Marshal Chad Hogue said there are no major traffic delays or ramp closures at this time. He said the spill happened on an isolated part of the ramp. However, those exiting eastbound from I-20 onto Highway 271 can only go south, but not north.
Crews with Smith County Emergency Services District No. 2 are responding to the scene, and HAZMAT crews are on the way, Hogue said.
No one was injured and the spill cleanup is complete in a couple of hours, he said.
