WHITEHOUSE, Texas — **EDITOR'S NOTE: Officials initially said it was a one-boat crash, before ultimately confirming there were two boats involved.
A second person has died following a Saturday morning boat crash on Lake Tyler.
According to Smith County Emergency Services Dist. 2., the incident occurred in the Whitehouse area of the lake.
The Tyler Police Dept. says a fishing boat crashed into a flat-bottom boat around 6 a.m. One person was on the fishing boat and three people were on the flat-bottom boat at the time of the collision.
Officials tell CBS19, a man, identified as Jacob Ray, 38, of Troup, was reported missing following the crash. His body was later recovered. A woman, identified as Staci Sexton, 38, of Whitehouse, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. She later died from her injuries. A second woman was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the fishing boat is cooperating with authorities.
Along with Smith County ESD 2 and Tyler police, Whitehouse police, Longview Fire Dept. Water Rescue and the Texas Game Wardens are all responding to the incident.
