LONGVIEW, Texas — The Longview group renovating Lake Lomond into a public park and outdoor food and dining destination called Echols Park are closing in on a milestone for the project's first phase.
A kayak launch doubling as a fishing dock is under construction, said Hudson Johnson, board president for Friends of Lake Lomond, the nonprofit organization working to develop the 92 acre waterfront property off U.S. 80.
“We will finish with the dock here this summer, and so hopefully some people will be able to start accessing the lake in the next few months,” Johnson said.
