TYLER, Texas — Cole Hefner won the Texas House of Representatives District 5 Republican primary race following Tuesday's election.
The Republican primary included incumbent Hefner, R-Mount Pleasant, and challengers Jeff Fletcher and Dewey Collier. Hefner came out with the majority vote.
District 5 covers the following counties: Camp, Rains, Smith (part), Titus, Upshur, Wood. Hefner has held the position since 2017.
There is no Democratic challenger in this race for November.
