GLADEWATER, Texas — The city of Gladewater issued a boil water notice Tuesday for some residents due to a loss of water pressure.
According to a Facebook post from the city, the problem was a 16-inch water main near the lake park on West Lake. The collar of the older line spilt and needed immediate attention because of its size on Monday.
Only those who lost water pressure on Monday need to boil their water. City officials expect the notice to be lifted sometime around noon Wednesday.
"The city is continuing to replace old lines with new PVC; however, this process is very time-consuming and costly. We understand this causes a great deal of inconvenience for everyone, and we ask for your patience as we move forward," the Facebook post said. "In dealing with infrastructure that is 50-plus years old, these repairs will continue, and we hope to reduce the number of citizens affected as we locate undocumented valves throughout the city."
