LOS ANGELES — "Captain" Daryl Dragon of the iconic pop dup Captain & Tennille has passed away.
According to Dragon's publicist Harlon Boll, the musician died on Wednesday due to renal failure. He was 76-years-old.
Although Dragon and Toni Tennille divorced in 2014, Boll says Tennille was by Dragon's side when he took his last breath.
"He was a brilliant musician with many friends who loved him greatly," Tennille said. "I was at my most creative in my life, when I was with him."
Some of the pair's legendary hits include:
"Love Will Keep Us Together"
"Do That to Me One More Time"
"Muskrat Love"
Bob Einstein of the hit HBO show "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and WWE Hall of Famer Gene Okerlund also died on Wednesday, both at the age of 76.
