TYLER, Texas — Rose City Comedy, Tyler’s go-to destination for live stand-up, is excited to announce its relocation to a larger, upscale venue at 7428 Old Jacksonville Highway, between Javi's Restaurant and Texas De Brazil.
After a massively successful summer stand-up concert series featuring comedy heavyweights Jon Reep, Chad Prather, and SNL’s Tim Meadows, Rose City Comedy is partnering with Blackhawk Creek Grill to bring a new level of entertainment to South Tyler. This move marks a significant expansion in both space and offerings.
The new venue, previously home to Cantina Laredo, represents a nearly 5,000 square foot upgrade from the club’s former 1,600 square foot downtown location. The facility will feature high-end cocktails, an elevated appetizer menu, and a variety of seating options including tables, booths, and VIP sections. These enhancements are designed to raise the audience experience, offering greater comfort, ambiance, and a more intimate connection to the performers. Weekly shows will expand to two performances a night, Thursday through Saturday, featuring a lineup of both regional and national stand-up acts.
While it’s sad to see a local favorite like Cantina Laredo close, this transition provides an exciting opportunity to grow a local brand and enhance East Texas’ arts and entertainment offerings. The new Rose City Comedy aims to become the premier destination for live stand-up and improv comedy performances, contributing to the cultural vibrancy of the South Tyler area. Remodeling of the new venue is expected to begin within the next 2-3 weeks, with the grand opening taking place on December 20th & 21st with 2024 America’s Got Talent golden buzzer contestant, Learnmore Jonasi.
In the meantime, Cantina Laredo will continue to operate part of the facility for previously scheduled holiday parties. For more information about Rose City Comedy, upcoming shows, or to inquire about event bookings, visit www.rosecitycomedy.club or follow us on social media for updates.
