HAWKINS, Texas — Hawkins High School will host a candlelight vigil and balloon release for two East Texas students who were killed in a crash last weekend.
Carter Snider, 17, of Hawkins, and Boston Wilson, 16, of Big Sandy, were killed in a two-vehicle collision in Houston County on Saturday. Snider was a senior football player at Hawkins High School, while Wilson was a student at Big Sandy High School, officials confirmed.
To honor their memory, students have come together to organize the vigil Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Hawkins High School football field parking lot. Friends of both Carter and Boston are invited to attend.
GoFundMe accounts have been set up for both families. The GoFundMe for Wilson can be found here, and the GoFundMe for Snider can be found here.
Also, on Friday, Sunny View Nutrition will hold a fundraiser in honor of Boston with a percentage of all sales going to his family. A jar for donations is at the business this week as well. The shop made a tea in Boston’s honor as well called #LLB.
