CampV in Tyler serves meals to linemen, first responders working tirelessly during storm cleanup efforts

Travis Gladhill, CampV executive director, said those at CampV hope this inspires the community to help those in need.

TYLER, Texas — Line workers and first responders who have been working around the clock to clean up the mess after Monday night’s storm got a special Friday treat.

CampV, a one-stop shop for veteran resources in East Texas, in Tyler served free food and drinks as a way to say thank you to everyone who have been working  hard on storm cleanup the past few days. Organizers said they wanted to take care of all those workers, the same way they take care of East Texas veterans.

Travis Gladhill, CampV executive director, said those at CampV hope this inspires the community to help those in need.

"As veterans, as first responders, we all kind of come from the same cloth. We are willing to put ourselves on the line for the betterment of others," Gladhill said.

CampV’s mission is to provide support and fellowship for veterans and their families.
