Calvary Commission celebrates 47 years of hope at annual Breakthrough Prayer and Mission Conference

The conference sessions will include times of worship, missionary reports, communal prayer, powerful spiritual messages and training for ministry and missions.

LINDALE, Texas — Calvary Commission, an international mission base and theological seminary in Lindale, will host its annual Breakthrough Prayer and Mission Conference next week. 

The conference begins Thursday, Aug. 29 and runs through Monday, Sept. 2 at the organization's Lindale campus, located at 15983 County Road 4140. This year's theme is "An Undivided Heart." The conference sessions will include times of worship, missionary reports, communal prayer, powerful spiritual messages and training for ministry and missions.

"We warmly welcome the public to be part of this important event," Calvary Commission President and International Director Joe Fauss said.

From Thursday through Saturday, the morning sessions will be at 10 a.m., the afternoon sessions will run from 2 to 4 p.m. (in English and Spanish) and the evening sessions will be held at 7 p.m. 

Bishop Dr. Joab Lohara, founder of Calvary Commission India and AIM Asia, will lead the opening Thursday morning service. 

The conference will kick off Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. at Church of Living Hope, located at 3308 Mineola Highway in Tyler, with missionary and Calvary Commission alumnus Nathan Cole speaking. 

Other speakers include: 

  • Dr. Eduardo Gonzalez, national church leader from Cuba
  • Nathan and Laura Cole, missionary founders of "Gente en La Roca" Church, Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico
  • Pastor Leo Miller, founder of All Generations Church, Lockhart, Texas
  • Matt Burton, senior pastor of All Generations Church, Lockhart, Texas
  • David Herndon, senior pastor of Church of the Living Hope, Tyler, Texas
  • Gary Tebbe, missionary to Peru
  • David Gearhart, missionary to Eastern Europe

"The conference serves as a platform for missionaries, alumni, and friends who have contributed to the journey of Calvary Commission over the past 47 years," Fauss said. "Each individual who has been part of our history has played a role in shaping Calvary Commission into what it is today.”

After each morning services, attendees will be served a complimentary lunch.

A family-friendly addition, the "Kids Konference," led by Jody Fauss and Patsy Milam, will be held to engage children with a "Kids Konference at The Kibbutz, an Israeli Village" theme.

The evening and morning events will be translated into Spanish. Russian translation is available as well. 

The conference will continue Sunday morning at Church of Living Hope in Tyler, featuring Lohara as the keynote speaker. In the evening, the Lindale campus will host the graduation ceremony for the Calvary Bible Institute, with Fauss delivering the commencement address.

After the conference, Calvary Commission will host its "Labor Day Bar-B-Q Blast" on Monday, Sept. 2, starting at 2 p.m. This day of family enjoyment will include games, musical and drama presentations, bounce houses, a petting zoo, pony rides and archery. Barbecue will be served at 4 p.m. The Labor Day Blast costs $10 per person or $20 per family.
