Bullard Police Department asks drivers to be cautious as back-to-school traffic causes congestion

Officers want to remind everyone to obey the posted school zone speed limits and stay aware, especially in school zones.

BULLARD, Texas — Between Brook Hill School and Bullard ISD, there are eight campuses within the city of Bullard. That has caused increases in the number of cars on the road significantly during the school year.

Bullard Police Department officers want to remind everyone to obey the posted school zone speed limits and stay aware, especially in school zones.

Although there will be traffic officers helping out at some campuses, police are asking commuters to follow some best practices.

"The main thing for people to do is to provide time and just to be courteous of other drivers. Be patient," Bullard Police Department Sgt. Judith Tuell said. "There's new drivers on the road too. So that's one thing that they need to look out for."

Whether people are dropping off or picking up, Bullard police said drivers should expect traffic delays and give themselves ample time to get where they're going. Drivers should also watch out for students, parents and staff crossing the street and stay off their cell phones in school zones.
