The Bullard community is mourning the loss of a former softball player.

According to Bullard Softball, Emma Lambert recently passed away.

"It is with heavy hearts that we make this post," Bullard Softball said on social media. "Our Emma Lamb gained her wings and we will forever be grateful for the love and light she shared with us daily. Emma Lynn Lambert your legacy is one of bravery, courage, resiliency, and true beauty. We are thankful for all of the laughter and joy you blessed us with. Words cannot express the love we have for this girl. A 2021 article by the Tyler Paper revealed Lambert was diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy just before her junior season. According to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, restrictive cardiomyopathy is a condition in which the chambers of heart stiffen over time. She was also placed on the transplant list

"Though the heart is able to squeeze well, it's not able to relax between beats normally," the hospital said. "This makes it harder for the heart to fill with blood. The blood backs up in the circulatory system."

A celebration of Lambert's life will be held Sunday, Nov. 12, from 2-6 p.m. at Lone Oak Venue, located at 12007 CR 1168 in Tyler. Bright, casual attire is requested.

“Emma Lynn Lambert was part of our Bullard Softball family from 2019-2021 but her light will shine in our hearts forever. As her former coach and forever family friend, I know her legacy of bravery, courage, resilience, laughter, and true beauty will have a lasting impact on all who knew her for many years to come,” Coach Julie Murry said.
