BULLARD, Texas — Bullard ISD Superintendent of Schools Todd Schneider announced his plans for retirement at Monday night's school board meeting.
During the meeting, he presented the following statement to the board and administrative staff:
“I am so proud of the team the school board has allowed us to build and more so, the united team you have become. You are strong leaders that make courageous decisions, love students, passionate about professional growth and committed to school improvement. I praise you for your desire to lead without public recognition while managing public criticisms and seemingly daily questioning of how you do your job. All of you possess competitiveness and the high expectations for yourselves, your respective staffs and, most of all, your students. I thank you for helping create and buying into the vision we have built, and entrusted to build, by past and current board members.
Your humility and desire to work together to improve this district in all areas assures me daily that Bullard ISD is in good hands. You rarely seek or receive credit publicly for the difficult work you do and do well day in and day out. In my 46 years as Superintendent, as a team of 8 and with the support of an unparalleled staff, we have made great strides in improving district and campus leadership, organizational structure for future growth, the implementation of effective and efficient systems across the district and, most of all, the curricular structure and instructional strategies that improve student learning and performance.
The resume of Bullard ISD over the last five years resonates educational transformation and progress like no other district in East Texas. The future is bright for our students! To date, I have enjoyed 31 years in Texas Public Education, 16 as an administrator and 12 as a Superintendent.
I am very thankful for all the students, secretaries, teachers, administrators, colleagues, parents, board members and a host of others that I have had the chance to work with on a daily basis. They have all made me a better leader, educator, friend, parent and husband. Bullard ISD has truly been a blessing to my family and I.”
