BULLARD, Texas — Bullard High School seniors participated in the sixth annual Seniors Serving Seniors community outreach event on Tuesday.
The event gave graduating seniors the opportunity to connect and give back to the senior citizens of the community who have supported the students over the years in Bullard ISD.
Class of 2024 students trimmed trees and shrubs, and painted houses and benches, mowed grass, pulled weeds, and made basic repairs to steps, decks, ramps, and fences.
Chloe Lagrone, Bullard High School senior, said she hopes the younger generations and other school districts see they can for the community and their fellow students.
This is not just helping the people around you. It's also for yourself because feeling that gratitude and then helping others is honestly the best feeling ever and I highly recommend younger generations to do it," she said.
The seniors were bused to 16 locations around the community to show their thanks and gratitude for all the years of support.
Associate Principal Chris Pawlak called Seniors Serving Seniors one of his favorite traditions at BHS.
"The Bullard community is very supportive of our schools. Our seniors enjoy showing their gratitude by helping meet the needs of our local senior citizens," Pawlak said.
