BULLARD, Texas — A local super-fan got to meet his hero.
An unforgettable moment, East Texas native and Kansas City Chief Quarterback Patrick Mahomes recognized and gave his headband to his number one fan, 10-year Josiah Harris from Bullard.
"It was hard to handle when he handed me the headband, I started jumping up and down, like yelling, oh my gosh, thank you, thank you, thank you, this is the best moment of my life," Harris said.
Mahomes was attracted by Harris' sign that says "#15- Mahomes, I'm your #1 fan from Bullard Texas."
Leading up to this big game, Harris had been showing his love for the Chiefs by creating viral Tik Toks doing pretend walkouts before every game dressed as Mahomes.
"We’ve been doing it for so long, but also knowing that family and friends expect. Its more of a community for us to celebrate getting ready for the game," Mandy Harris, Josiah's mom said.
Harris, one of the youngest biggest Chiefs fans you'll meet, is living out his dreams. Patrick Mahomes is his hero for a reason.
"The way he throws the ball, his technique of playing the game, the way he can find someone that's open, run the gaps, make the first down, run around, spin, make crazy plays," Harris said.
HIs love for Mahomes dates back to his early years in the NFL.
"Josiah's love for him was the first super bowl and constantly watching him and he's always enjoyed football," Harris said.
The eight-hour drive was worth the ride for the undefeated Chiefs. A nail-biting overtime victory against the buccaneers and on top of that, this is only the third in-person Chiefs' game the Harris family attended.
"He wears chiefs gear four out of five times out the week," Harris said.
Harris aspires to become a preacher or pro football player just like his hero, MVP quarterback Mahomes. Harris will hold on to this moment, forever.
"[Mahomes] knows who Josiah from Bullard Texas is," Harris' mom said.
