Brookshire Grocery Co. on Wednesday announced the donation of $184,500 from the 2024 Fresh 15 race proceeds to area charities.
Every year, all of the proceeds the Fresh 15 race fees go toward local nonprofits.
"We're beyond proud of this achievement and grateful to everyone who made it possible," the organizers said in a Facebook post.
Since the race began 11 years ago, Brookshire Grocery Co. has donated more than $1.7 million to many charities in East Texas.
Organizers thanked the runners, vendors and volunteers for their support in giving back to the community. Those in giving back by participating in next year's race can register by visiting the Fresh 15 website at fresh15k.com.
