VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas — Bridge construction on I-20 and FM 859 is scheduled to begin Aug. 18, which will cause detours on the main lanes.
According to TXDOT, the main lanes of I-20 and FM 859 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews continue bridge construction. During this time, traffic will be redirected to the frontage roads, and then back onto I-20.
On Aug. 22, detours on FM 859 will begin, and the existing bridge will be closed to traffic. The demolition of that bridge is scheduled to begin Sept. 7.
TXDOT reminded drivers to watch their speed and drive carefully as crews continue to work.
