GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Former President Donald Trump said a third debate with Vice President Kamala Harris will be held in Grand Rapids.
Trump posted on his Truth Social account just after midnight on Sunday morning that he will debate Harris three times in September:
- Pennsylvania with Fox News on Sept. 4
- Philadelphia with ABC on Sept. 10
- Grand Rapids with NBC on Sept. 25
According to the Harris campaign, as of Sunday afternoon, the only debate agreed upon by Trump and Harris is the Philadelphia debate with ABC on Sept. 10. No other debates, the campaign said, had been confirmed.
According to reporting from ABC News, a Harris campaign official has said Harris will not agree to the Sept. 4 Fox debate.
Trump took a swing at ABC, writing that the only confirmed debate in Philadelphia will take place on "Fake News ABC, home of George Slopadopoulos."
He also said the Philadelphia debate will be "anchored" by ABC's David Muir and the alleged third debate in Grand Rapids will be "anchored" by Lester Holt.
It's still not clear where the Grand Rapids debate would take place, or when, if it happened at all.
The former president's post comes as his vice president pick, J.D. Vance, will visit Grand Rapids this week.
He's expected to make remarks at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Cordes, Inc. in Byron Center.
Vance was also in the Detroit area last week.
Trump held his first rally after the assassination attempt at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, positioning West Michigan as a priority for the former president.
