HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — The body of a man who was reported missing after he didn't come to shore when his canoe capsized at a private lake in Henderson County.
Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said the body of man was recovered Wednesday after searching since April 9. His body came up with the vegetation from dragging the pond.
According to Hillhouse, two people were in a canoe on a private lake near Eustace April 9 when the canoe overturned.
One person was able to get to shore, but the other man, who was later identified as Juan Ortiz Delacruz, 47, did not come up, the sheriff said.
Hillhouse said neither person had permission to be on the private property.
