Bethesda Health Clinic in Tyler hosts Runway for Hope fashion show fundraiser

TYLER, Texas — It was an exciting day for fashion over at Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler. Bethesda Health Clinic hosted its annual Runway for Hope fashion show hosted by CBS19's own Dana Hughey.

This yearly fashion show is hosted by Bethesda, and all of the clothing featured in the show comes from the clinic’s thrift store, Hangers for Hope. The models on the runway were comprised mostly volunteers for the organization as well as community leaders.

But they also had a special guest star with lots of runway experience -- Miss Texas 1960 Mary Irwin.

"Well I was very hesitant because of my age, but they made it so much fun," Irwin said. "It certainly is for the most wonderful cause. I think it’s just a terrific organization and does so much good for the community."

The event also included a luncheon and an auction with multiple name-brand items. All the proceeds made at the event will go toward services performed at the Bethesda Health Clinic.

The clinic helps underserved East Texas families who either without insurance coverage or are underinsured.
