Authorities responding to explosion in Mineola, local media reports

A witness told CBS19 the scene is on Highway 80 in the western part of Mineola.

WOOD COUNTY, Texas — Wood County Now is reporting an explosion Thursday night in West Mineola. There are no injuries according to the community news organization.

Several people gathered at the downtown Mineola gaze... bo to begin a peaceful march at noon today. With signs in hand, they walked to Walmart to take a stand against racism and injustice. Hunter Barr, a teacher at Mineola ISD last year, picked up the cause of a march when he found out that some of his students, who had previously planned one, got death threats.

A witness told CBS19 the explosion happened near Highway 80 at W Broad Street. Other witnesses are saying on social media there are several grass fires along Highway 80. However, CBS19 has not confirmed whether the fires are related to the explosion.
