TYLER, Texas — In Tyler, a local artist is making people's days a little brighter, one mural at a time. She is adding color and life to the community with each stroke of the brush.
Dace Kidd is the artist who painted the murals under the Gentry Parkway bridge, at North Spring Ave. and at the Caldwell Arts Academy. She paints these murals, not just to show her art but also to help beautify the community.
“The bridge has a really profound impact on the community because it's seen by so many and so many people are touched by art, educated and they can learn more about it and just get a good, positive emotion for the day,” Kidd said.
Kidd and her colleagues, Dr. Sasha Vukelja and Dr. Larry Anderson, are planning to paint more murals at the Caldwell Arts Academy, under the bridge and in various other spots around Tyler.
