The Tyler Trees Committee and the City of Tyler Urban Forestry Division are hosting Arbor Day on Saturday, Jan. 13 at two Tyler parks.
The annual tree planting events will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Pollard Park and 2 to 4 p.m. at Golden Road Park.
The itinerary for the events is listed below:
Pollard Park
8:30 to 9 a.m.- Volunteer Registration & Check In
9:30 a.m.- Opening Ceremony
10 a.m.- Tree Planting
11:30 a.m.- Lunch
Golden Park
2 p.m.- Tree Planting
Volunteers will plant trees and also receive a free shirt, lunch, and the chance to win door prizes.
Arbor Day is a day to recognize the significance of trees in our communities and seeks to mobilize volunteers and inspire tree plantings and care throughout the community, the organizers said.
