NACOGDOCHES — Jamal Denard Brown, a 27-year-old Houston man, was arrested and charged in the capital murder of Joey Gipson, a Nacogdoches native who was shot and killed in Nacogdoches in January of 2017.
According to the Nacogdoches Police Department, Brown is the fourth individual arrested and charged in this case.
In September of 2018, Kasey Rashad Brown, Rassiun Stephon Franklin and Patrick Hughey were all identified by police as suspects and warrants were signed for each of them.
Brown was arrested by Houston police on a Nacogdoches warrant for capital murder. He was taken back to Nacogdoches on Tuesday.
The case is still active and under investigation.
