TYLER, Texas — Tyler ISD's Andy Woods Elementary School celebrated Farm Day Thursday as a part of the Pre-K student's farm studies unit.
Farm Day has become a yearly tradition at the school, where farmers visit the students who get to practice using the vocabulary words they had learned throughout the unit. The students also get to experience hands-on work that farmers practice, like milking a cow.
Horse rides and piglet petting also took place at the annual event.
Contributions for the event came from the Tyler ISD Career & Technology Animal Science Department, United Ag & Turf and the school's own fifth-graders, who volunteered to help run stations for the younger students.
