Waco | Alligator captured on video swimming in Brazos River

This sighting has sparked some concerns in the Waco community.

WACO, Texas — An alligator was spotted swimming in the Brazos River right underneath the suspension bridge at Indian Spring Park on Sunday, Nov. 19.

Shelbi Todaro captured the moments she saw the large reptile taking a morning swim and posted the videos to Facebook just before noon on Sunday.

These videos have sparked conversation among the Waco community. A few commenters appear to be concerned over the possibility of attacks when kayaking or swimming.

6 News has reached out to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to hopefully learn more information on why these alligators are here and how long they have been there.
