Above and Beyond: Palestine officers help return missing elderly Oklahoma man to his family

Wesley Davidson, 87, was reported missing on Feb. 7 in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. With the help of two Palestine police officers, he returned to his family.

PALESTINE, Texas — The Palestine Police Department helped to rescue an elderly Oklahoma man Feb. 8 who had been missing since Feb. 7.

According to the Palestine Police Department, PPD Officer Steven St. Cyr and Corporal Steffen Wilson encountered an elderly man in the 3600 block of West Oak at about 8 a.m.

Officers say the man was confused about where he was and how he ended up in Palestine. Officers identified the man as 87-year-old Wesley Davidson, who was reported missing on Feb. 7 in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. 

Police reached out to Davidson's family while helping to make him as comfortable as possible. The officers gave Davidson a morning coffee and breakfast while he caught up with the news.

Davidson's family picked him up later that afternoon.
