PANOLA COUNTY, Texas — Deputies found about 32 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Panola County early Saturday morning.
According to the Panola County Sheriff's Office, a sergeant conducted a traffic stop on Highway 149 south of Beckville for a moving violation, After seeing indications of criminal activity, the officer requested a K-9 unit.
The K-9 alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search led to them finding multiple large packages containing approximately 32 pounds of marijuana, the sheriff's office said.
The driver was charged with possession of marijuana between five and 50 pounds.
