GLADEWATER, Texas — Rodeo season kicked off in Gladewater this week as the 87th annual Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo began.
Wednesday saw a full night of Xtreme Bulls, with three more nights of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association competition ahead. Points earned at this competition can contribute to riders' placement at the PRCA national finals.
According to Kyle Moore, the Gladewater Rodeo association president, the backbone of the rodeo is the volunteers who work all year to help stage the event.
"We are a family and we make it a family tradition," Moore said. "We get to see Cowboys every year that we don't get to see, but once a year."
