HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — A 5-year-old has died after drowning in an East Texas lake.
According to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, officials responded to the Lake Palestine area on Saturday on reports of a drowning.
Sheriff Hillhouse confirmed a 5-year-old boy with autism walked away from a recreational area of the lake and fell into the water.
The incident is under investigation.
