MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — Mount Pleasant deputies arrested five people Wednesday after seizing drugs and guns from a residence.
Deputies responded to a call about shots fired around 7:15 a.m. on Monday near Private Road 3015, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department. During an investigation, deputies executed a search warrant on a house involved with the incident.
Detectives seized over half a pound of cocaine, two ounces of heroin, and eight guns. Police arrested Rony Almendez, 33, Damaso Rojas-Hernandez, 42, and Melby Antunez-Ortega, as well as two other unnamed individuals, all of which have been booked into the Titus County Jail.
Almendez, Rojas-Hernandez and Antunez-Ortega have all three been charged with deadly conduct and manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance. Rojas-Hernandez has also been charged possession of drug paraphernalia. Antunez-Ortega received additional charges for failure to identify, disorderly conduct and an additional outstanding arrest warrant.
The two unnamed individuals were arrested on non-drug related charges.
