3 Smith County Animal Shelter hero dogs who helped save other pups' lives in danger of getting euthanized

Onyx, Winston and Demetria are all considered hero dogs for their service of donating blood, and they need someone to come in and save their own lives.

TYLER, Texas — Three dogs at the Smith County Animal Shelter who donated blood and helped save the lives of other dogs are in danger of getting euthanized. 

Onyx, Winston and Demetria are all considered hero dogs for their service of donating blood, and they need someone to come in and save their own lives. They are all next on the euthanasia list. 

Winston is a smart, sweet and friendly 1-year-old dog. He is need of help first or he will be put down. He is 46 pounds and an approved blood donor. He is vetted and has all shots. 

Onyx is a handsome shepherd mix who is also fully vetted and an approved blood donor. Onyx is 2 years old and weighs 59 pounds. 

Demetria is 18 months old, weighs 58 pounds and is a lab mix. She is also a blood donor and fully vetted.

All three of the dogs are heartworm negative.
