Tyler police identify victims in Tuesday night shooting at The Foundry apartments

Detectives say they know the identity of the a person who ran from the shooting, but have not identified them to the media.

TYLER, Texas — The Tyler Police Department has identified two of three victims involved in Tuesday night's shooting at The Foundry apartments in Tyler.  

According to the Tyler Police Department, officers received a call around 11:15 p.m. concerning a shooting in the 3400 block of Varsity Driver near building 2700.

According to Tyler police, 19-year-old Armani Jewel Fields, of Lufkin was shot and killed. 

Tristan Craig, 20, of Henderson, was also shot and drove himself to the hospital where he is stable.

The third victim, a female who has yet to be identified, was shot while in her apartment but was not involved in the altercation. She is also stable.

Police determined the shooting began as a drug deal between three people that then turned into an altercation.

Detectives say they know the identity of the person who ran from the shooting, but has not identified them to the media. Officials also say multiple weapons were recovered from the scene.

UT Tyler has confirmed that none of the individuals involved in the shooting are students at the university. 

The investigation is ongoing.
