HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — Three pets survived and one died after a house fire in Henderson County Sunday night.
According to Payne Springs Fire and Rescue, firefighters responded to a fire at a lake house in Indian Harbor just before 8 p.m. Crews found fire coming through the roof. The person who was at the home reported four pets were trapped inside.
After fighting the blaze and searching the residence, all four pets were found; however, one cat died. Two dogs and another pet were set to receive treatment from a vet, Payne Springs Fire and Rescue said. The animals received oxygen treatment at the scene.
The Red Cross was notified to help the residents, who were not injured. None of the firefighters were hurt either, the fire department said.
