POLK COUNTY, Texas — Three people in Polk County have been arrested and are accused of credit card fraud.
Ryan Cain Barnes, 27, of Livingston, Kevin Wayne Barnes, 49, and Raelynn Tina Herbert are all accused of credit card abuse. Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons said they responded to a call about a burglary of a vehicle in the Forest Hills Subdivision. An investigation determined that a credit card was used in several places in Polk County and Onalaska.
Another call was received from a resident in the Four Corners subdivision where a victim alleges a wallet with an AirTag was taken from inside the caller's vehicle. The caller was able to provide the location of the wallet, which showed the location of a suspect's vehicle.
After determining probable cause with the help of Onalaska Police Department, law enforcement was able to conduct a traffic stop on the suspected vehicle. Officers found credit cards, a wallet with an AirTag and methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Ryan and Kevin Barnes were both taken into custody and charged with credit card abuse, burglary of a vehicle and engagement in organized criminal activity. Kevin Barnes was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Raelynn Herbert was also arrested in connection with the two men and has been charged with credit card abuse, burglary of a vehicle and engagement in organized criminal activity.
