26-year-old man charged with murder in connection with fatal fentanyl overdose in Northeast Texas

The sheriff's office said information gathered by investigators suggested the overdose was caused by fentanyl. Evidence also uncovered where the fentanyl came from.

HOPKINS COUNTY, Texas — A 26-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal fentanyl overdose in Northeast Texas. 

Tyler Bromley was booked into the Rockwall County Jail Friday in connection with the fentanyl overdose where the victim was found in her home on Jan. 30 in Hopkins County, according to the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office. 

The sheriff's office said information gathered by investigators suggested the overdose was caused by fentanyl. Evidence also uncovered where the fentanyl came from. 

After getting the autopsy results, Hopkins County deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Bromley. He was arrested in Rockwall with assistance from the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety narcotics agents.
