2 accused of copper theft, evading deputies arrested in Cherokee County

After a nine-mile track back toward Jacksonville, Anthony Henderson and Brandon Alford were found on top of a deer stand trying to hide.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — Two men accused of stealing copper and evading deputies were arrested in Cherokee County. 

Anthony Henderson, 40, of Jacksonville and Brandon Alford, 33, of Jacksonville, were both charged with theft of materials (copper) and evading arrest Sunday after Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of a theft at on County Road 3212 at a salt water plant. 

Deputies reported seeing the two men running into the woods. Texas Department of Criminal Justice Beto Pack Dogs were contacted to track both of them. After a nine-mile track back toward Jacksonville, Henderson and Alford were found on top of a deer stand trying to hide. Both of them were then arrested and booked in on the charges.
