EAGLE PASS, Texas — Two East Texas representatives will be among state lawmakers to join Gov. Greg Abbott for a border security announcement Thursday in Eagle Pass.
Abbott said the press conference is being held in response to President Joe Biden's "reckless open border policies" at Shelby Park in Eagle Pass.
State Reps. Cody Harris and Cole Hefner are a part of the House of Representatives membership who will join Abbott along with Texas Department of Public Safety Deputy Director Freeman Martin, Adjutant General of Texas Major General Thomas Suelzer and Texas Border Czar Mike Banks.
Harris represents the counties of Anderson, Cherokee, Navarro and part of Henderson County, and Hefner represents counties of Camp, Rains, Titus, Upshur, Wood and part of Smith County.
Ahead of press conference, Abbott and Texas representatives will receive a briefing about Operation Lone Star mission to secure the border.
