2 arrested in Polk County for distribution, possession of drugs

A resident living at the home allegedly answered the door holding a smoldering marijuana pipe.

ONALASKA, Texas — The Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested two people Tuesday following an investigation into drug-related activities in Onalaska.

According to Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons, investigators executed a "knock and talk" investigation at 117 E. Yaupon Oak Drive. A resident living at the home, who was identified as Ronald Kelly Walston, allegedly answered the door holding a smoldering marijuana pipe. Consent to search the home was granted soon after.

Police reported finding marijuana and methamphetamine in the home. Another person at the scene, Toni Marie Pierce, was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia as well as a baggie containing meth, Lyons said.

Pierce and Walston have both been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

"Sheriff Lyons and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office remain committed to addressing and eliminating drug-related issues in our neighborhoods," the Polk County Sheriff's Office said. "The ongoing investigation aims to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in illegal drug activities within the area."

Sheriff Lyons emphasized the importance of community involvements in the efforts to curb drug activities in East Texas.

"The operation focused on curbing the use and distribution of illegal substances within the community," the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.
