LUFKIN, Texas — Two men have been arrested following a drive-by shooting that left one person injured in Lufkin on Wednesday night.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, Chey Venegas, 18, and David Brown, 17, are arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to Lufkin Police, officers responded to the 1000 block of Ross Ave. around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived on scene they discovered a man with gunshot wounds to his leg while he was inside of his home.
The man was later transported to a local hospital for his non-life-threatening injuries.
Venegas and Brown proceeded to flee the scene after the drive-by shooting and were later taken into custody without incident.
Police unveiled that both suspects had prior warrants for an aggravated robbery that occurred earlier in the month on Fair Street, according to the press release.
Venegas and Brown are both currently in Angelina County Jail and remain on collective bonds of $1,000,000.
