TYLER, Texas — Two adults are dead and a child is in critical condition following a crash that occurred over the weekend in Tyler.
According to the Tyler Police Department, on Saturday, Sept. 14, around 8:20 p.m., officers responded to a crash at Hwy. 271 and FM 2015.
Police say a pickup truck was travelling south on FM 2015 and pulled out in front of a minivan headed northeast on Hwy. 271. The driver of the van, identified as Tammy Gibney, 62, and front passenger, identified as Chelsea Askew, 39, were pronounced dead at the scene.
An 11-year-old, who was also a passenger in the van, was flown to a Dallas hospital and is in critical condition.
The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital for treatment and charges are pending.
The investigation is ongoing.
