TROUP, Texas — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday after multiple agencies responded to shots fired in Troup city limits.
Latravion Dewberry, 17, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the Saturday morning incident, according to the Troup Police Department.
Police said officers along with surrounding agencies and Smith County deputies quickly responded to reports of shots fired and quickly found several involved in the incident at a residence off Railroad Street.
While questioning suspects, police said they uncovered vital information and potential evidence concerning criminal activities in Smith County. A search of the area led to the discovery of several firearms.
Dewberry was later arrested in connection with the shooting incident. The investigation is ongoing as additional suspects could be arrested and charges are pending.
