GILMER, Texas — An East Texas teen has been arrested for allegedly making a threat toward Gilmer ISD.
According to the Upshur County Sheriff's Office, on Tuesday night, deputies and the Gilmer Police Department responded to a report from Gilmer ISD regarding a threat made on social media.
Upshur County investigators interviewed people associated with the social media accounts which led to officials identifying a 13-year-old boy as the suspect.
The teen was located and admitted to making the threat. He was detained and placed in a Harrison County juvenile facility in for terroristic threat. The case will be forwarded to the Upshur County District Attorney.
