SHERIFF: Nearly 10 pounds of cocaine seized in traffic stops in Nacogdoches County

​An investigation into the arrests is currently ongoing. It is unknown if the three individuals are connected.

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas — Nacogdoches County deputies seized over 10 pounds of cocaine across two traffic stops this week.

According Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, deputies pulled over a suspect identified as Desean Hyken Lee Williams, 33, of Flint, Michigan on Monday around 8:50 p.m. for traffic violations on the 1700 block of S.W. Stallings Drive. Deputies said they noticed the smell of marijuana in the vehicle, and Williams said he'd smoked earlier and that there might be marijuana in the vehicle.

Deputies conducted a probable cause search of Williams' car and found two plastic-wrapped bundles of power, both of which tested positive for cocaine.

Williams was taken into custody and charged with a first-degree felony for possession of a controlled substance. The combined weight of the packages was 5.2 pounds. His bond was set at $50,000, which Williams posted and was released on Tuesday afternoon. 

Another traffic stop was conducted on Tuesday, also on S.W. Stallings Drive. Police made contact with Quintez Maurice Banks, 33, of Clinton, Michigan and Sasithorn, Boohom, 25, of Brighton, Michigan.

Officers conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle and located two packages of narcotics which both tested positive as cocaine, with a comvined weight of 4.7 pounds. Officers also found large amount of cash.

Banks and Boohom were both taken into custody and charged with a first-degree felonies for possession of a controlled substance. Banks' bond was set at $50,000. Boohom's bond was set at $40,000.

An investigation into the arrests is currently ongoing. It is unknown if the three individuals are connected.
